Flight Club Manchester
GlobalFlight Club is a hit in London, Birmingham and Manchester, with its primary aim (sorry) to offer a contemporary take on playing a round of arrows down the pub – you can book your own semi-private area with a dartboard where two to six of you can step up to the oche.
Tucked away off the top of King Street, the bar is well stocked at Flight Club. There’s plenty of lager and cider on tap, a whole array of shots, slushies and cocktails, and special offer afternoon fizz, with Prosecco at £20 a bottle (double for champers). There’s also a pretty surprising selection of wines, from half-decent basic to go on, treat yourself, including a Chablis plus a Pouilly-Fumé on the white list, Côtes de Provence rosé, and reds like organic Chianti and Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.
We’re not going to lie to you, you don’t go to Flight Club for the dining experience; the dining experience, such that it is, is a by-product of the darting experience. In a nutshell, there’s pizza paddles, designed for two to share, and a choice of straight, curly or sweet potato fries. Pizza toppings range from basic garlic bread and classic Margherita to concoctions involving spicy ‘Ndjua sausage and Sriracha chilli sauce or the chargrilled chicken, crispy bacon and creamy pesto. Gluten-free bases are available, as is vegan cheese. Ah, everyone’s a winner here.
