Thaikhun Street Food Trafford Centre
Thaikhun Trafford Centre joins the Spinningfields OG in what is now a double figure chain of Thai street food venues founded by Sukhothai province-born Kim Kaewkraikhot (also behind the Chaophraya empire).
Pronounced “tycoon”, Thaikhun offers a spread of stir fries, curries, rice and noodle dishes, plus sharers and small dishes. The menu at this special “all you can eat Thai buffet” changes every day, so you can explore a different range of freshly made Thai dishes inspired by authentic recipes from the streets of Bangkok each time you visit.
Featuring classic Thai dishes and some modern twists, there’s everything from Thai green curry to grilled pork skewers with papaya salad, and from prawn tom yum to kai soi gai curried chicken noodle. Vegetarian and vegan options are plentiful – in some cases, you just need to specify when ordering.
Thaikhun is fully licensed, so if you’ve come on the tram, fill your boots. There are also non-boozy drinks, although even the Thai iced tea or iced green tea “crafted with love and sweetened condensed milk, served with whipped cream” can be pumped up with spiced rum.
