Tommy’s Fish & Chip Shop
With regular queues out the door and an army of locals who swear by it, Tommy’s Fish & Chip Shop in Heywood comes fiercely recommended. This unassuming corner cafe with its fifties-style dining room was the original branch of what used to be a chain of chippies all over the region.
Go there for the spanking fresh fish and chips ‘straight from the fryer’ and some exemplary mushy peas.
