Epicerie Ludo
Epicerie Ludo is a small shop on Beech Road in Chorlton that’s an absolute treasure trove of food and drink.
The focus is primarily French and also local producers. Come early for the delicious pastries and fresh-baked breads – which are also available on Sundays. The almond croissants are lovely but tend to sell out fast.
The wine selection isn’t massive but it’s well chosen and there is a decent selection of spirits.
It’s one of those places that sells such a varied range of things, from saucisson to sarsparilla, that it’s hard to describe. From freshly made pastel de nata on the counter to pies in the fridge, fancy chocolates and funky cheeses, Epicerie Ludo has it all. On summer days, they sell ice cream out the front too.
If you’re looking for gifts, this place should be top of your list because it’s all about quality. They do hampers so it’s a brilliant place for Christmas shopping.
