Frog and Bucket
The Frog and Bucket is one of Manchester’s longest running comedy clubs and one of the first venues to open in the (now booming) Northern Quarter.
It’s known for giving comedians who are now household names the platform to practise their jokes in front of an audience. Some famous folks who have taken to the Frog and Bucket stage include Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, John Bishop and Sarah Millican.
Over the years, the weekend shows turned into midweek amateur gigs and their infamous ‘Beat the Frog’ night was born; a challenge where budding comedians are given five minutes to impress the audience. If they don’t, the three audience judges hold up their cards and they’re out of the game.
As well as comedy, the Frog and Bucket serves up typical quick eats like burgers and pizzas, along with regular midweek drinks deals.
