Irish World Heritage Centre
The Irish World Heritage Centre (IWHC) in Cheetham Hill is a social and cultural hub for Manchester’s Irish community.
Its activity programme includes Irish music, dancing and language classes. While its bar, The Wild Geese Bar, offers live sports on multiple screens including GAA matches. There’s also a large garden, ideal for sunny days, enclosed by an Iron-Age Celtic fort-style wall.
If you’re looking for something to take home with you, there’s a shop that sells famous Irish food brands and local-to-Ireland newspapers. Pop into the adjoining cafe on a Sunday for an Irish roast dinner.
