Posie
Fans of hit restaurant 10 Tib Lane will be keen to check out Posie – a new smaller-scale venue from the same team. It’s more cocktail bar than restaurant but with a three-course menu of small plates, you won’t be left to fill up on olives and nuts if you turn up hungry.
In fact we recommend going in with an appetite: the cooking reaches the same heights as its big sister on Tib Lane and the portion-size-to-price ratio is generous. We went in for a snack and came out stuffed.
Highlights included the Littlewoods hogget merguez sausage, and the apple and miso terrine dessert. There’s plenty of nibbly options like sourdough with spring onion butter, and crackers with roasted pumpkin seed dip sprinkled with feta. They serve oysters at £3 a go (£1 during happy hour) with various dressings including sorrel granita and mezcal mignonette.
The cocktails will be the main draw for many. With six classics, six originals, six low and no, plus six aperitivo, they’re opting for quality over copious choice – always a good sign. Expect well-made, carefully thought-out creations that you’ll want to sip slowly and savour. There’s also a martini menu if you like your drinks strong and simple.
