Garten Bar | Corn Exchange
Right in the centre of the Corn Exchange atrium, the German-themed Garten Bar is a light, airy setting for brunch, lunch, dinner, cocktails and coffee. It’s a great spot for people-watching and the perfect meeting place for days out in Manchester.
The menu moves from classic brunch dishes, through to burgers, shish kebabs and a grill. There’s also a good-value ‘steak experience’ in the evenings (bottomless steak and fries for one hour for £35/£40).
Drinks-wise, try its number one beer, Bitburger, which is on draft. As well as Hofbräu Original, Spaten Helles and Benediktiner Weissbier.
Cocktails are German-themed too, even down to Das Original Mojito – made with Pampero rum. Other concoctions include a Berghain Bramble and a Wassermelone Spritz, which, aside from being fun to pronounce, are no different to the originals.
Wine and mocktails are also served, and if it’s a typical Manchester rainy day, warm up with all the usual hot drinks too. You can’t go wrong with a German hot chocolate topped with whipped cream. Wunderbar!
