The Peer Hat
The Peer Hat is an odd combination. This Northern Quarter bar and gig venue mixes a cutting edge assortment of musical acts with a style that can only be described as Witchfinder General.
Despite the menace of the headgear, The Peer Hat is a lovely bar with a real sense of community. It’s more than just a place to catch the bands you like. It’s clear that the people who work here are passionate about live music.
As well as intimate basement gigs, there are regular club nights (including the ever-popular Heart of Glass) as well as spoken word events, film festivals and all sorts of cultural shenanigans.
Inside, it’s relaxed and feels more like a pub than a cool bar. It’s more ramshackle than most of its NQ neighbours which makes a refreshing change from Instagram-ready interiors.
