The Windmill
The Windmill is a country pub with beautiful views and traditional British food that is definitely on the gastro end of the pub grub spectrum.
Typical dishes include pan fried sea bass with chorizo bon bon and romesco sauce, popular favourite, beer-battered haddock and chips, and braised beef brisket with dauphinoise potatoes and carrots cooked in dripping.
Ingredients come from respected local suppliers like Barrows Butchers in Bollington, and fresh, simple, seasonal cooking is at the heart of the menu.
The Windmill has an enormous beer garden (think football pitch size) and is a great place for a drink as well as lunch or dinner. You’ll find Cheshire cask ales and a diverse range of keg line crafts as well as a decent selection of wine too.
Despite an out-of-the-way rural location, The Windmill is almost always busy at weekends. People travel for miles around for the setting, the service, the atmosphere, and the food.
