Arcadian Didsbury
If you loved Hispi, you’ll love Arcadian even more. This new addition to Didsbury Village continues the swish-casual neighbourhood restaurant feel but also offers something more idiosyncratic with spot-on open-fire cooking.
Arcadian has a ton of personality with big flavours and the skill to bring them together on the plate. It’s somewhere you ‘warm’ to immediately if you’ll forgive the fiery pun.
This is the first Greater Manchester restaurant from chef Andrew Sheridan and Open Restaurant Group and residents of the area can count themselves lucky.
The bespoke grill at the heart of the kitchen is a real statement of intent and wood, charcoal and flame run right through the menu which is cohesive and considered. Arcadian is definitely not somewhere jumping on the barbecue bandwagon.
Confidentials loved the coal-seared beef tartare with bone marrow toast, the fire-roasted prawns with ’nduja butter and a magnificent grilled monkfish. The Wagyu ribeye and the whole piri-piri chicken deserve a drooling paragraph all of their own.
With meat cookery this good, expect the Sunday roast to be an absolute knockout.
