The Laureate Restaurant
So named because of Manchester University’s 25 Nobel laureates, The Laureate Restaurant is a large and luxurious space located on the ground floor of Manchester’s Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Described as “multi-cuisine”, the restaurant serves students and travellers from around the world, with cuisines ranging from classic British – think fish and chips – to Italian pasta and pizza, and Japanese teriyaki-style chicken. Despite the international menu, The Laureate’s chefs put great effort into sourcing fresh, local ingredients. And as you would expect, the hotel’s restaurant is open for all-day dining. The same amount of detail and precision is given to service from light bites and sandwiches to steaks cooked on the grill. Pizzas are all prepared with San Marzano tomatoes and range from a traditional margherita, to a fiery Calabrese-style with spicy n’duja sausage.
On the grill you’ll find ribeye steak, chicken with lemon, garlic and parsley, and grilled tofu with an Asian-style marinade. Vegan and vegetarian diets are well catered for – as are gluten-free diners. Don’t miss the tiger prawns served with chill and garlic marinade or the classic French steak au poivre with frites and watercress.
Drinks are served from The Graduate bar with speciality cocktails available alongside a bar menu of snacks like crispy gochujang chicken and open sandwiches like pastrami and Swiss cheese with pickles – perfect drinking food.
