Bar Etna
Bar Etna is regularly voted as the best place to eat in Altrincham. Locals love its authentic Sicilian dishes and friendly, welcoming atmosphere but with food this good, they can’t expect to keep it to themselves.
There’s a limited menu but this is always a good sign. The restaurant serves traditional favourites like oven-baked cannelloni filled to bursting with an unctuous meat ragù or regional specialities like sausage with eggs cooked the Sicilian way.
Bar Etna has a reputation for excellent fresh pasta. This is shown off to perfection in dishes like ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta. It’s also known for its deli offering with sharing platters of cooked meats and olives always a popular choice. If you’re looking for an easy lunch, there’s also a selection of paninis and focaccia.
Take note – Bar Etna is a small cosy place so make sure you book ahead. Despite the lack of space there’s still room for families; kids love the little play area and no one minds if the tagliatelle is slurped inexpertly or inelegantly.
