Circolo Popolare Manchester
Much-hyped Manchester opening from the Big Mamma Group, Circolo Popolare is Italian dining designed for the Instagram grid. Its big, extravagant dishes look great and if you order wisely, taste pretty good too.
Go for simple classics over showy novelty and you should fare well. Our recommendations include the sirloin alla griglia – a 35-day aged steak served with crisp potatoes and a gravy boat of tangy salsa verde, and the insalate verde with its superb French vinaigrette.
The interior is gorgeous as you’d expect from such a style-conscious brand – think trailing wisteria canopies, twinkling fairy lights and gleaming marble tables. The location – in Gary Neville’s glamorous new St Michael’s building – suits it perfectly.
