This Manchester institution was a respected destination for Spanish food long before tapas became a common sight in the city centre.

Tucked away on a backstreet off Deansgate, El Rincon has a hidden gem feel, helped by the descent below street-level to the restaurant. 

Authentic and fairly-priced, it’s known as the place where Spaniards go for a taste of home – whether that’s Premier League footballers or visitors from the nearby Cervantes Institute. 

Owner Rafa leads a warm, welcoming team who keep the wine, paellas and inspired small plates flowing. Don’t be surprised if you emerge from those steps a little later than you planned.
