Maricarmen Ancoats
Maricarmen is a lively tapas bar that brings a bit of Spain to the streets of Ancoats. Live music, olives, flamenco and tortilla are just some of the things that bring that Iberian buzz. Like being on holiday at home.
It’s not just the usual tapas suspects; Maricarmen’s menu is more interesting than that. Think slow-braised oxtail stew with Pedro Ximenez sauce and quality secreto iberico – the cut of pork that’s so good, Spanish butchers keep it for themselves.
As well as the a la carte tapas menu that gets Confidentials all excited, Maricarmen also offers its unique and interactive El Tableo option.
El Tableo is served all day on Mondays, Tuesdays. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays as well as from midday – 4pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Tapas dishes are brought round by the friendly team. Simply take what you fancy and when you’re done, the number of empty dishes are totted up to calculate your bill.
They’re only £3.80 each which is great value but it’s easy to get carried away.
Order a vermut or a big Spanish copa of gin and relive your last trip to Spain.
