Bar San Juan
Beech Road’s Bar San Juan is almost always bursting at the seams with customers. This unassuming little tapas bar is one of those hidden gems of almost cult-like status that locals just love to recommend. Rightly so.
The general consensus is to either go for lunch or very early evening or expect up to a 2-hour wait. Most people factor a substantial wait time into their plan, pull up a stool and sip sangria until a table becomes available. All part of the Bar San Juan charm, apparently.
Our reviewers have enjoyed tasty morsels such as chickpeas with spinach, garlic and almonds, pickled anchovies (boquerones to those in the know) and classic tortilla. The chefs work such wonders in the lilliputian kitchen that you almost forget you are in Manchester and not Madrid.
