Next Door
Next Door is one of Cheshire’s most delightful restaurants. Housed in Frodsham’s timber-framed old butcher’s shop, it’s full of charm and is well-known locally for its superb cooking. It has a place in the Michelin Guide and has been awarded three AA Rosettes.
There’s a no-waste philosophy here; sustainability and high-end cooking go hand in hand. Typical dishes might include smoked pork loin with preserved tomato and blood sausage, or salt aged duck breast with confit leg, duck egg yolk, shallot, heritage carrot and ancient grains.
The meat here is particularly good as you might expect from the premises’ previous incarnation. Frodsham’s butchers, H.E. Coward, is still going strong, having moved a few doors down. It now supplies the restaurant, with all meat sourced from Cheshire and North Wales.
Next Door is definitely a restaurant worth travelling to. There’s a fancy tasting menu with both lunch and dinner versions available, as well as an a la carte menu and a good value lunch option.
