Runyon’s Bar & Restaurant
Runyon’s restaurant at Hotel Brooklyn claims to be somewhere you’ll be “overfed and overindulged” with a menu of British classics that has been sprinkled with some “Big Apple” swagger. Just like the hotel, the style of the restaurant is designed with a New York state of mind. Leather seats, tiled flooring and thick granite tables give it a solid, industrial feel.
Runyon’s keeps its menus classic – think Brooklyn beer battered haddock, beef short rib BBQ and simple grilled tuna nicoise salad. But you’ll find a great selection of steaks from New York strip to rib eye and tomahawk on the a la carte. The restaurant is in an ideal spot for pre-show drinks and dinners – just round the corner from the Palace Theatre on Oxford Road – so the pre-show menu is a winner at £25 for 3 courses. Highlights include the Brooklyn Luxe burger with beef pate and maple bacon, and a fried apple sandwich served with toffee sauce and Chantilly cream.
Also available is a Brooklyn afternoon tea with beef sliders and smoked salmon bagels – veggie and vegan options are also on the menu. And don’t forget bottomless brunch with classic American pancakes, breakfast pot pie and even hot buffalo wings up for grabs.
