San Carlo Gran Cafe
Head to any of the ristorantes in the acclaimed and award-winning family-run San Carlo Group and you know you’re in for exceptional ingredients, artfully prepared, and served in super chic surroundings. Gran Cafe is perfect for ladies who brunch and famous for afternoon tea, featuring its own signature cakes, including pistachio tart and mille feuille.
Get your day off to the start it deserves with some good eggs – scrambled with salmon, say, or poached with avocado, or knocked up as an omelette with Gruyère and ham. You could really push the boat out and have a full English, complete with Lancashire farm sausages and Bury black pudding, or even a French-inspired croque monsieur, but, let’s face it, what we’re really here for is are the house sweet treats. Move over, chicken schnitzel sandwich and tuna Niçoise salad, take a hike homemade spinach and ricotta cannelloni and lemony fishcakes… Well hello, cheesecake, no wait, tiramisu, hang on, chocolatey Rocher San Carlo, oh my Coppa Golosa ice cream sundae with real Italian gelato for two.
San Carlo wouldn’t be San Carlo without a well-sourced wine list featuring the best of Italy and its islands, plus plenty of Prosecco and, of course, the makings of an Aperol Spritz or two.
