The Original Third Eye
The Original Third Eye is a long-standing Nepalese and Indian restaurant and takeaway serving up familiar favourites as well as some Nepalese specialities you might not have heard of. Ask the locals where to go for a decent Ruby Murray and Third Eye will invariably come up. You may even spot the odd celebrity in there. The members of Take That have been known to frequent its tables.
Owned by husband and wife team Arun and Mela Kumar, it’s basically a Didsbury institution, but they’re not just living on past glories. They snapped up a ‘Best of Manchester’ award at the English Curry Awards in 2018, beating the likes of Mughli and Bundobust.
Makhan sauce is chef’s speciality. Otherwise known as butter sauce, you can have yours with chicken, shrimp or veggie options. If you want to be more adventurous, there’s a kidney kebab amongst the offerings from the tandoor.
