Trattoria 51 Southport
Much like the seaside town itself, Trattoria 51 Southport looks its best when the sun is shining. The terrace at the front is the perfect spot for a long-spooned ice cream sundae or a post-beach negroni. If not, the good-value, classic Italian food inside should cheer you up with its mix of rustic pasta dishes, stone-baked pizzas, salads and grills.
The home-made, fresh pasta dishes get great reviews – we like the sound of the orrechiete with chorizo and gorgonzola. Look out for seafood specials such as king prawns and sea bass served with juicy tomatoes, salads, herbs and Italian bread.
Gluten-free diners have lots of options – all the pasta and pizzas can be made GF on request. Vegetarians are well catered for, vegans less so. As you’d expect for a pizza place by the sea, it’s well set-up for families.
