Another Place, The Lake is a Lake District spa hotel that makes full use of its picture-perfect location on the shores of Ullswater. 

Ideal for outdoor types who prefer home comforts to roughing it in a tent, it’s a boutique hotel with a gorgeous spa and a range of lake-based activities to try. There’s paddleboarding, open water swimming, kayaking, and sailing, plus stargazing, skiing and skating in the winter months.

Accommodation ranges from plush hotel rooms to cosy shepherd huts, with a few ultra-lux options such as a secluded, two-bedroomed treehouse, and a swish, contemporary-styled cottage. There are smaller hideaways for couples or solo travellers, and plenty of family-orientated choices.

Children are well catered for here with campfire cooking, team sports, and craft sessions in the Ofsted-registered Kids Zone. Meanwhile, you can head to the spa which has a 20m pool (significantly warmer than the lake), an outdoor hot tub, a fellside sauna, a cardio room and treatment rooms.
