Dakota Manchester
The Dakota Manchester describes itself as the city’s best hotel. We’re not getting into that debate but we will say it’s the most glam.
Designed by Amanda Rosa and owned by Ken McCullough, it’s low-lit and brooding, in a stylish, noirish way. Dramatic lighting and hushed, luxurious spaces (such as the Champagne Room and the Cigar Room) make you feel like you’re starring in your own golden era movie. It’s the kind of atmosphere that can lift your mood. Even more so when you see the rooms.
With oyster tones and plush furnishings, they mirror the understated opulence of Dakota Grill, the hotel’s bar and restaurant. Thoughtful, extra touches such as Sky TV and blackout curtains make you feel very well looked-after. In the high-finish bathrooms, you’ll find a rainfall shower and designer toiletries. And that’s just the classic rooms; book their penthouse suite (they say it’s the largest in the city) and you’ll unlock a whole new level of luxury.
