Netherby Hall
Situated in rolling countryside just south of the Scottish border near Carlisle, Netherby Hall is a luxury weekend break destination for those who want to self-cater in style.
It won Best Self Catering Accommodation at the 2024 Cumbria Tourism Awards – quite an achievement considering this region includes tourist hotspot the Lake District.
The charm is partly in the location – Netherby Hall is a stately home with landscaped and walled gardens which you’re free to enjoy throughout your stay. And it’s partly in the spaciousness and attention-to-detail in the characterful apartments and cottages. There are nine to choose from, all one or two bedrooms.
Netherby Hall is owned by the same family as the nearby Michelin star restaurant The Pentonbridge Inn (some of the ingredients for the tasting menu are grown in the gardens here). You can book a horse and carriage ride from the hall to the inn if you want to make your meal there even more special.
