Close Male Grooming NQ is small but perfectly formed for a barber. It has an attitude and an energy that makes going for a trim seem like hanging out. No wonder the original barbershop on Great Ancoats Street has since been joined other outposts. Find Close on Bridge St, Whitworth St, Blackfriars and Castlefield as well as slightly further afield in Chorlton, Altrincham and West Didsbury.
Close was one of the new wave of barbers that felt like a space for guys to relax in and get more than just a quick short back and sides. Owner and founder Alex Shore is a fully-trained hairdresser who has mastered everything from colour to graduated bobs but it’s male grooming where his heart lies. The intensive unisex training means he knows hair from root to tip so you are always going to get a great cut.
As well as cuts and colour, Close offers beard shaping and cut throat shaves with hot towels. Oh, and you’ll be handed a bottle of beer with your beard trim. It’s a barbershop with bar vibes.
