RCNQ
This well-established hair salon in the Northern Quarter recently upped sticks to premises that are a little more off-the-beaten-track than the original RCNQ site on Stevenson Square. The new, slightly smaller salon is just a few minutes’ walk away, on a side street off Tib Street. And while it doesn’t get the same passing trade, word-of-mouth keeps it busy.
The stylists, led by owner Rob Czlapka, have a reputation for listening to their clients and giving them what they want (even when said-client doesn’t quite know what that is). Their colouring and styling skills are impressive and they’re tuned into the trends.
Specialities include trans-friendly styling, afro styling, balayage, mullets, wigs, shag cuts and more. The vibe is very Generation Z in the new salon but all ages will feel welcome – it’s an inclusive, unpretentious place.
