Folk Didsbury
Folk is a bit of an institution in Didsbury, having been on the scene for over a decade now. As with many of the local haunts, there is a bulging events calendar with DJs every weekend. On a sunny day you can sit outside with the palm trees and straw canopy and try to convince yourself you’re somewhere more exotic.
Brunch is the star, so you can return to the scene of the crime to gorge away your hangover, if you want. Think modern classics like steak and eggs or huevos picante. You can accompany your brekkie with a Breakfast Mimosa or a Bloody Mary if you want to keep the party going, for good or bad.
During the day it’s a relaxed place, popular with families and groups of friends. From midday, fry-ups and eggs florentine are replaced by small plates and a few standalones like cheeseburgers or pie and mash from The Great North Pie co. Sharing dishes have a global appeal with options like crispy Korean chicken, roasted butternut squash with chimichurri and feta or prawn pil pil.
