The Green Lab
HealthyFounded in May 2019 by sisters Nikita and Kanika from Manchester, The Green Lab is described as a health and well-being lifestyle store. The pair aim to make it easy for their customers to find fresh, quick and healthy food in the city.
If you’re looking for junk food, this isn’t the place for you, but if you fancy something fresh, healthy and filling you’re in the right place. Homemade smoothies line the fridges at the side of the counter, and the seats overlook large windows so this is a great spot for watching the world go by. Order food at the counter and build your own bowl from a choice of nutritious ingredients like beetroot hummus, miso pickled vegetables and Kashmiri roasted cauliflower. Crunchy chicken wraps also feature on the menu, and there is plenty here to keep vegetarians and vegans well-fed too. Including smoothie bowls made with soya yoghurt.
If you’re after something sweet but are worried about your gains, The Green Lab’s speciality is its unusual ‘pronuts’ which pack in 18g of protein. Choose from vanilla strawberry, double choc and lime and vanilla flavour. Juices and smoothies are made fresh every day – try the Espresso Martini with energy-boosting lions mane mushroom and organic cacao. Or try a wellness shot like I’ve Got the Power which is meant to help boost your immune system with apples, lemon, turmeric, Himalayan sea salt and ginger.
