The Pasta Factory
The group of friends behind The Pasta Factory’s story originally hail from Turin in the northern region of Piedmont, so this is the place for authentic Italian food full of flavour, with dishes created from scratch using only the best fresh ingredients in season.
Different pasta doughs are made by hand every day, with natural colourants such as green spinach, red wine and pink beetroot adding vibrant shades to an array of shapes in all sizes, from short molle to long buccatini. There are also filled varieties, including square ravioli and three-sided triangoli, and it’s not just about pasta: on the menu you’ll also find handmade potato gnocchi accompanied by sauces such as smoked pancetta and porcini mushrooms. Seasonal is a buzzword here and the toppings and garnishes make best use of the flavours of the moment, with authentic Italian ingredients imported as available, including truffle, smoky speck cured ham and creamy burrata mozzarella cheese. The Pasta Factory also dishes up plenty of plant-based options, with a good choice of meat-free mains on the main menu and specials board, and dairy-free desserts including the likes of limoncello sorbet and vegan semifreddo.
There’s also lots of flavour on the exclusively Italian wine list, all DOC, DOCG or IGT designated, from a basic Barbera red to a purse-busting Siepi, classic whites the likes of Pinot Grigio and Verdicchio, and, of course, northern Italy’s Glera Prosecco.
