Tokyo Noodle Bar
Pan AsianFamed for its massive portions and diminutive prices, Tokyo Noodle Bar would be a hidden gem if it wasn’t already so well known. Tucked away on the edge of Chinatown, it was originally called Tokyou (which nobody knew how to pronounce) and is now Tokyo, or Tokyo Noodle Bar to be exact.
And while the name has evolved, the food has retained the quality that built its reputation: if you want to eat well in Chinatown for not much money, this is your place. The menu is Pan Asian, ranging from sushi and teriyaki to ramen and curries to fried rice and sweet and sour pork. Recommendations include the crispy lemon chicken and the honey fried spare ribs.
The decor is functional and simple; the warm atmosphere comes from the friendly service, cooking aromas and giant bowls of steaming noodles. You’ll likely have enough left for lunch the next day – they’ll box it up for you to take home.
