Bionic Seven

Clothing

Head to Port Street on the edge of the NQ to find Bionic Seven, a vintage clothing shop where every item is sourced and handpicked by owners Imran and Nick. (You’ll find no by-the-crate bulk deliveries from the vintage wholesalers here).

They’ve been selling vintage and antique clothing in the NQ for about 20 years, moving from Afflecks to the Thomas Street area to here – which they expect will be their forever home. The shop has a lovely feel to it; it’s well curated but unpretentious and affordable with some real one-offs within the American, European and British menswear.

Highlights include low-key military wear from the 1940s to the 1970s, and a collection of unique parker jackets that they commissioned a Manchester designer to make from vintage material found on their travels – including heavy 1950s cotton and antique denim. They’ve also got a collection of duffle bags refashioned from items that weren’t up to selling standard, like an ancient Helly Hansen jacket.

If you’re shopping for menswear or unisex clothing, you’ll want to check this place out. It’s also a good go-to if you’re gift-shopping for a man and want something that’s truly unique.
