6 Music Festival
The BBC’s 6 Music Festival is a celebration of up-and-coming talent, emerging acts and the cool elder statespeople of alternative music across all genres. It started off in Manchester back in 2014 and pops up annually in the coolest gig venues across the UK. But, Manchester being synonymous with music and all that, we are its default home. 6 Music has chosen Greater Manchester more than any other city. We’re flattered. Really.
Every year, the 6 Music Festival bandwagon rolls into its chosen town bringing sell-out shows, unforgettable DJ sets and club nights, and memorable firsts where artists perform unexpected collaborations, reinvent themselves and make a real statement about modern music.

6 Music Festival 2025
Greater Manchester hosts the 6 Music Festival for the fourth time and for the third year running from 26-29 March 2025. With headline acts like Ezra Collective, Mogwai and Kae Tempest taking to the stage at the Victoria Warehouse on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, many tickets are sold out already.
As well as the big names at O₂ Victoria Warehouse, Band on the Wall is the venue for an indie dive disco on Friday night with the return of perennial favourite Indie Forever and some big names playing the tunes. Amber’s is the place for dancefloor bangers as 6 Music partners with the Warehouse Project also on Friday 28 March.
Discover fresh sounds with BBC Introducing on Wednesday 26 March and get your New Music Fix with a line-up including 1-800 Girls on Thursday 27 March – both at Yes. Come down from your sonic highs with the Morning After Mix on Saturday 29 March; Jamz Supernova and Emma-Jean Thackray will be providing the musical bliss.
