Sounds of the City

Sounds of the City is a summer season of outdoor gigs by big name acts at Castlefield Bowl in Manchester.

It’s not strictly a festival, more a series of curated gigs on a big outdoor stage with an amphitheatre-style set-up. But it’s still got that heady summer buzz and a festival feel.

2024’s line-up includes the textured and emotional indie rock of The National on Thursday 4 July, the good-time Irish folk-rock of The Saw Doctors on Saturday 6 July and the infectious guitar anthems of Tom Grennan on Sunday 7 July.

It continues the following week taking a groovier turn with the confident and experimental dance of Jungle on Thursday 11 July and the festival favourite, Hacienda Classical on Saturday 13 July.
