People’s History Museum
The People’s History Museum tells the story of the development of democracy in Britain. It’s the only museum in the UK that focuses on the revolutionaries, reformers, workers, voters, and citizens who believed in ideas worth fighting for, like equality, social justice and co-operation.
The team here work alongside the communities whose stories are being told. Inside you’ll find an eclectic and colourful collection of artefacts including banners, badges, posters, artwork, placards, personal items, and more, spanning four centuries of campaigning.
The museum is family-friendly throughout and houses the Open Kitchen Cafe and Bar, a sustainable and ethical cafe serving breakfast, lunch and drinks. There’s also a covered picnic area for those bringing their own food.
