Blackpool Pleasure Beach
The roar of the rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach (and their accompanying screams) is the sound of Blackpool. With ten rollercoasters – more than any other UK theme park – it beats the competition on the adrenaline front.
ICON and The Big One are as famous as the names suggest. Look out for special events like twilight ride sessions and escorted climbing tours of The Big One.
Meanwhile, kids will love the family rides and gentle cruises of Nickelodeon Land, where they can meet their favourite life-size characters with everyone from the Paw Patrol pups to Spongebob Squarepants stopping by.
There are some pretty impressive shows too, from fast and furious figure skating to hypnotism and magic shows.
There’s an old-fashioned, end-of-the-pier quality about Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s attractions and ice creams, even though the Victorian theme park has morphed into something much more hi-tech these days.
This being Lancashire not Florida, they offer FlexiDate ticketing so you can visit on a different day if the weather forecast is bad.
