Rock Over Climbing Sharston
Rock Over Climbing Sharston is the newest climbing centre from the respected Rock Over group – and it’s one of the friendliest, most colourful, and inclusive climbing spots around.
It offers a range of bouldering routes for all levels from very easy beginner routes which are graded VB, up to V7 and beyond, which must feel a bit like scaling Everest with one arm tied behind your back. (I’m not sure I could manage a V2.)
I highly recommend the family induction sessions if you’re new to climbing. For novices, it’s worth noting that this is a bouldering centre so it’s all clambering up the walls – there’s no ropes or carabiners.
The walls are higher than in many centres – judge for yourself whether that’s a good thing – and there are some angled walls that give a real workout.
There are late-night sessions and all sorts of events, from trans social climbs to women-only climb-and-cake sessions.
Routes change regularly, and you can try out the new challenges at Hubfest nights, complete with music, lights, and fresh climbs.
