The Cracked Actor
The Cracked Actor is a small blues bar on Stockport’s Underbanks. It looks like a little old boozer but inside it has a pretty raucous atmosphere, live music and a great selection of craft ales.
In fact, if you’re a fan of indie breweries, The Cracked Actor is probably Stockport’s best bar for beer with the likes of Verdant, DEYA, Vault City and Pomona Island on draught. There’s also an impressive selection of gins too.
Head up the rickety stairs to see live bands – the team at The Cracked Actor seem to have a talent for picking out up-and-coming talent. There’s a lively feel to this place which is open till 1am on Saturdays.
With the well-worn tables and chairs as well as the candles, The Cracked Actor has a European city vibe rather than a small town pub. It’s like hanging out in Lille or Brussels but with more British beers.
And with its big windows, outdoor tables and position right on Little Underbank, it’s perfect for some European-style people-watching.
Open: Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun
