Foundation Coffee House Northern Quarter
Foundation Coffee House Northern Quarter is the first of three locations in the city centre from this homegrown brand. This spacious original site in Grade II Listed Sevendale House sets the tone for its siblings on Portland Street and Whitworth Street. Namely sleek, minimalist design and a cultish devotion to premium, single source beans.
Foundation offers all the standard variations on coffee, plus several more you won’t find at your local chain, or your local indie for that matter. Options include Red Eye, Black Eye, Dead Eye, Kevlar, and Bulletproof, making us wonder if we’re ordering a brew or going into battle.
There’s also plenty of chilled options, including a coffee and tonic, plus five different types of hot chocolate. Tea geeks will find plenty to please them, with leaves supplied by sustainable procurers Canton.
With this much caffeine in your system, you’re going to need some food to soak it up. (That’s how it works, isn’t it?) They’ve serve pastries from Batard bakery in Miles Platting, plus all the classic breakfast and brunch dishes, including a decent range for vegans and veggies.
