Mouro Northern Quarter
After winning over the caffeine lovers of first Heaton Moor and then Altrincham, Mouro opened its third coffee shop on Tib Street in the Northern Quarter in spring 2026.
It’s a good-looking spot – a little bit Italian, a little bit retro, very modern-day Manchester. If you can visit here without whipping out your phone for a few photos for your Stories, you’re more restrained than we are. Who needs a flight to Rome when you can just pose outside this place with a cortado in hand?
It’s got style for sure but what about substance? If that substance is coffee, then yes, certainly. They roast their own house blend and you can buy bags to take home from the shop or online.
They also do regular specials that will appeal to the real coffee geeks: Mouro ‘Wild Peach’ Cold Brew for example – a pink bourbon co-ferment with a peach melba whip. If you know your anaerobic natural orange fermentation from your Colombian washed San Sebastian, you may have met your match here.
Or just play it safe and order a cappuccino. Their freshly made focaccia sandwiches and warm cinnamon buns will balance out the caffeine buzz.
