City Wine Bar & Kitchen
Get fresh, local and honest food at City Wine Bar and Kitchen in the grade II listed ‘City Buildings’ on Old Hall Street in Liverpool. This independently owned bar and restaurant prides itself on using fresh local ingredients, producers and suppliers as much as possible.
While the menu is greatly inspired by global cuisine, you can’t get very far in Liverpool without specialising in the tradition of scouse. This traditional beef stew is served with bread and beetroot, just as it should be at the City Wine Bar.
Elsewhere find other classics like steak frites, moules and fish and chips. Lighter options could see you trying tempura Korean BBQ cauliflower bites or chorizo arancini. There are sandwiches too such as a courgette bhaji and burgers ranging from BBQ beef to Sriracha chicken.
Of course, you’ll find a full wine list here with light Couvette Beaujolais and oaky Nero D’Avola next to fruity Austrian Rieslings and a funky Spanish orange wine – Ginja Ninja. Draught and bottled beer is all served, with a classic list of cocktails to boot.
Because City Wine Bar and Kitchen is housed in such a beautiful old building, it makes a great setting for weddings, corporate events and private parties. Full and partial hire is available with packages for 20 to 200 guests.
