Higher Ground
Higher Ground, the permanent restaurant from the team behind Flawd, opened its doors in February 2023. Taking up residence in Bruntwood’s Faulkner House on Faulkner Street, it offers a chilled bistro experience with a focus on championing the finest North West produce.
Led by Joseph Otway, the team behind Higher Ground includes Daniel Craig Martin and Richard Cossins, who also run the Cinderwood Market Garden in Cheshire. The restaurant uses ingredients from the garden and offers a wide selection of natural wines, similar to Flawd.
Seasonal sharing menus are available at affordable prices, with a set menu for £38 at lunchtime and £58 in the evening. There’s also an a la carte menu featuring finely-tuned dishes that, like the sharing menus, closely echo the changes in season. If you want to eat somewhere that offers more than just a cursory nod to seasonality and revels in making the absolute best out of the produce coming out of this region, this is your place.
