Honest Burgers Liverpool
The Honest Burgers chain chose well when it selected the top end of Bold Street for its Liverpool branch; a worthy location that’s home to some of the city’s best-loved food spots. And while we won’t claim this London-born business is one of them, Honest Burgers is popular and deservedly so.
Inside, the smart decor is reminiscent of on old butcher’s shop with deep green tiling and black steel framing a chalk wall displaying menu items.
The menu itself is simple: burgers, just burgers, with the exception of a couple of sides. There are no desserts at all. Not even a free mint. You’ll need to go elsewhere if pudding is non-negotiable.
Back at Honest Burgers though, we recommend their local special, The Liverpool Burger, which was created with Lark Lane’s Hafla Hafla. It’s a Chinese chippy influenced combo of prime beef pattie, grilled halloumi, spring onion, salt and pepper, and Sriracha mayo. It makes more sense when you eat it, trust us. Like all the burgers here, it comes with rosemary salted fries: the kind of chips that embed themselves in your consciousness for years to come.
To drink, choose from cocktails, wines, softs, and an evolving range of locally-brewed beers, such as Black Lodge.
