Jasmine
Despite being enormous and giving off slightly-half finished vibes when it comes to the fit-out, Jasmine is always busy. It’s been busy for the last decade and it’s all down to the food.
Chorlton is packed with Middle Eastern restaurants but Jasmine is one of the best. For family meals and big groups of friends it always gets it right.
This Lebanese neighbourhood stalwart is great for meat with its sujok (spicy sausages), lamb bourak and fragrant chicken kebabs all real favourites. However, vegetarians need to stick to the meze-style dishes or go for a vegetable version of a dish as the mains are very meaty. Heavenly hummus, makmour (grilled aubergine with tomatoes, onions, peppers and spices) and great falafel go some way to making amends.
Food is fresh and inviting but also very good value. The meat is smoky, the Arabic salads are vibrant and the rice is aromatic. And it’s BYOB. No wonder it’s a Chorlton favourite.
