Leopard Pie
Leopard Pie is a lockdown baby. The pizza, with its slow-fermented three-day dough, was perfected when everyone else was messing around with banana bread and getting to grips with Zoom calls. Now they’re a bricks-and-mortar business in Worsley.
The Leopard Pies contain no actual leopards but refer to the black-blistered crust gained from a 60-second sunbathe at 550° in their wood-fired pizza furnace. Popular toppings include the cinghiale – with wild boar no less, the Amalfi with anchovies, capers and olives and the white Tuscan pizza with fennel salami.
As well as pizza, Leopard Pie has made a name for itself with frozen margs and honey butter rings. It’s a fun time sort of a place with a great sun spot terrace. Inside, there’s a massive jungle graffiti vibe. Even the pizza oven has forgone the usual sparkly mosaic for a street art smiley exterior.
