Louis
Louis is the next big thing from Adam and Drew Jones, the brothers behind Tattu and Fenix, but it’s something very different to both.
Modelled on a glamorous New York of yesteryear, Louis is the sort of place you expect to see Frank Sinatra propping up the bar with a martini in hand. It has that fifties movie star elegance with a hint of mobster. Perhaps in keeping with that theme, there is no photography here. What happens at Louis stays at Louis, making it a safe bet for any celeb shenanigans.
Tables bedecked in white linen are dotted around supper club-style whilst a stage has star billing, seeming to emerge from the centre of an ornate scallop shell. It’s not just about the food at Louis; it’s the whole experience and live music plays a central part.
The food is done well though you may baulk at paying upwards of £26 for a bowl of pasta. Signature dishes include green lip breaded mussels, osso buco with risotto Milanese and caesar salad.
Confidential Guides loves the dessert trolley – something which seems to be having a bit of a resurgence of late. The Italian-American influence continues with dishes like tiramisu mixing it up with apple pie and baked New York cheesecake.
