Madre Manchester
You’ll find Manchester’s Madre near KAMPUS on the Chorlton Street side of the complex. It’s the kind of place you’d visit with a groups of friends to enjoy good Mexican food, music and mezcal.
It’s a warm and well-lit venue that, by nightfall, becomes a snug haven. The low ceiling and dangling pendant lights add an element of cosiness making you feel positively tucked away.
The menu suggests you ‘drink while you think’, giving you the option to choose from a number of reasonably priced beers and cocktails like the toreador; Tapatio tequila, hibiscus mezcal and apricot brandy.
Food is served in small plates; our favourites include the beef shin tacos and the chicharon de peurco (crispy, tender pork belly bites, in Mexican cola BBQ sauce, with crispy onion).
This lively spot is a popular choice for socialising, grabbing lunch, and unwinding with a cocktail or two as the night draws in.
