Sora Manchester
Sora Manchester is a rooftop bar and restaurant serving up sushi, Pan Asian small plates and views of the city’s neo-Gothic architecture.
It’s housed on the top floor of Malmaison Deansgate in an enviable position overlooking the Town Hall and Albert Square. (Enviable once the restoration project is completed, anyway.)
The menu focuses on sushi and sashimi as well as small plates from the robata grill. Seafood is a speciality and the tuna nigiri, the dragon roll and the black cod with miso glaze are excellent. You can also enjoy Pan-Asian favourites like Korean fried cauliflower with gochujang.
Sora is a drinks destination helped by visually appealing cocktails. There are both local and Japanese gins available as well as Japanese whiskeys. Weekends are lively but chilled with DJs and guest musicians.
