Souvla Allerton Road

Formerly known as Grilla, Souvla is known for its cool Scandinavian interior and menu of rustic, hearty, continent-spanning food.

The menu is a meat feast of whole chickens, kebabs, and mixed grills cooked over flame. Go for their mixed platter of chicken and pork souvlaki on wooden skewers, served with a superb tzatziki and a crunchy salad. The halloumi chips are a deep fried indulgence, worth seeking out. The pitta bread is soft, gently puffed-up – and in a class of its own.

With the smell of warm bread and chicken cooked slowly on the spit, Souvla is a warm, welcoming place to step into on a rainy night. Soft blankets on pale wood benches and logs stocked by the fire up the hygge factor further.
