A £500k refurbishment in 2021 brought to life the original features of this Grade II Listed heritage building. Now it’s one of the most photogenic backdrops in Liverpool, and the food’s not half bad too.

The Restaurant Bar & Grill group may have lost its Manchester restaurant but Liverpool, is still going strong thanks to confident cooking and a menu that balances classics with inspired seasonal dishes.

A typical starter could be sea bass ceviche with passion fruit, chilli, cucumber and avocado. Mains focus on well-rounded seafood and meat options and Italian dishes: linguine with lobster for example, or veal chop Milanese. Their steaks are from naturally reared British beef. Vegetarians and vegans have their own dedicated menu.

The wine list is extensive and eclectic with organic options and hard-to-find varieties, including 20-plus available by the glass. A particular emphasis is given to gin and cocktails, and fans of low and no alcohol will find plenty of interest too. Take a seat at the island bar or on the alfresco terrace and enjoy your drink in style.
